ROLEX

A pioneer of Swiss luxury watches since 1905, Rolex's most famous innovations include the Oyster, the first waterproof wristwatch, and the Perpetual rotor self-winding mechanism.

Hans Wilsdorf launched Rolex in London in 1905, focusing on elegance and precision. He added small, highly precise movements manufactured by a Swiss watchmaking company to convince the public of his timepieces' reliability. By 1920, Wilsdorf relocated the company to the watchmaking capital of Geneva, Switzerland. Today, Rolex SA and its subsidiary Montres Tudor SA design produce, Rolex and Tudor distribute and service wristwatches. In 2023, Rolex acquired its longtime retail partner, Bucherer. In 2024, Rolex began constructing a new affiliate on Fifth Avenue in New York.
